Morning at Vidya Niketan Hostel
It’s 6:00 AM at Vidya Niketan Hostel. Many students are waking up to their alarm clocks. In the yoga hall, Sharma Ma’am is teaching morning yoga, and twenty students are following her instructions. Some students are stretching on their mats, while others are practicing breathing exercises. In the common bathrooms, students are taking quick showers and brushing their teeth. Neha is combing her hair, and her roommate Priyanka is ironing her college uniform. The hostel cook, Lakshmi aunty, is preparing breakfast in the kitchen – she is making hot dosas and sambar. In Room 105, Meera is searching for her science notes, while her roommate Anjali is packing her laptop. Some first-year students are running down the stairs because they are getting late for their 8 AM class. At the hostel gate, a few students are waiting for their bus, while others are walking to their nearby college. Usage:  1. For an action going on at the time of speaking. He is reading the newspaper. 2. For an action that is planned before you speak about it and is in the near future. We also use it for talking about personal arrangements. We are eating out tonight. 3. To express changing or developing situations. India is progressing day by day

Structure:

Subject + is/am/are + Verb-ing + remaining sentence. Subject + is/am/are + not + Verb-ing + remaining sentence. Is/am/are + subject + Verb-ing + remaining sentence? Question word + Is/am/are + subject + Verb-ing + remaining sentence?

Examples: 1. It is raining heavily. 2. He is coming with us. 3. Ravi is throwing a party on his birthday. 4. He is not coming with us. 5. They are talking among themselves. 6. They are not talking with one another. 7. We are going to Khandala for a vacation. 8. She is getting naughtier by the day. 9. Is he coming with us? 10. Why is Ravi shouting? 11. What are you doing this Sunday?
